WorkBuddy vs CodeBuddy: Same Model, Different Deliverables

Hy4 is one model that powers both Tencent products; it is not software you install separately. Choose based on the deliverable: WorkBuddy for extracting follow-ups from meetings and email, CodeBuddy when the output must be runnable code, a webpage, or a game.

What Changed in the Formal Release

The formal version adds visual understanding and computer operation for the first time. A screenshot can answer visual questions like which button is blocked, but fixing it still requires tools to edit code and operate a browser. Uploading an image does not grant operation permissions. Tencent reports relative gains over preview in GameDev and GameLogic benchmarks; these are vendor figures, not per-project success rates.

WorkBuddy: Find Real Follow-Ups

WorkBuddy combines authorized chat, email, docs, and calendar. Scope the request to one project and the past week. Ask it to cross-check meeting notes against post-meeting emails, cite sources, list owners and last-confirmed dates, and surface conflicts instead of guessing. Verify one overdue task first: does the result cite the earliest plan or the latest email? Confirm that table before creating reminders.

CodeBuddy: Turn Screenshots into Verifiable Changes

Give CodeBuddy a design mock, the target component, and reproduction steps. For a cart page, ask it to find what covers the checkout button at mobile width, change only that component, then test empty cart, long product names, and quantity changes. Layout screenshots and tests answer different questions. For game prototypes, define an acceptance case first, such as key state resetting after restart.

API, App Quota, and Weights Are Separate

Tencent says Hy4 is available via cloud providers and inside its apps. API pricing is separate from subscription fees. Budget for cached versus uncached input separately, then add output. Rates for this service are on our /model-pricing page. Formal weights were announced as planned, not immediately downloadable; the preview weights are a different release.
